ANCOM issued today a very useful warning for many consumers in Romania, the authority reminding Romanians that international minutes cannot be used in roaming . We are talking here about those international minutes that Romanians can use to call from Romania to other countries in the European Union, or outside it, these not being valid in roaming, as is logical.
When we are roaming, i.e. outside of Romania, in an EU (EEA) country and we make phone calls, the resources available for roaming are consumed. More precisely, if we call in the country in which we are, the national minutes should be used, and if we call in Romania, or are called from Romania, or from the country in which we are, the national minutes allocated in the subscription should be used .
International minutes are not valid in roaming
The same thing should be valid for other EEA countries, but if we are in Romania and call them, the international minutes will be consumed. Also, if we are in Romania, or in Roaming, and we call countries outside the EEA, then different rates will apply depending on what our operator charges for these types of calls made from the country, or when we are roaming.
ANCOM also made the table below to try to explain everything I told you above, but many customers will still have a hard time understanding the difference between national and international calls. It is normal for it to be so, because the changes for roaming charges made in June left many people with many questions, so all that remains is to contact the mobile phone operators for any other concerns you may have.
