Apple employees complain about the new Apple Park

Apple Park it hasn't been opened yet, but Apple employees have already started to complain about the way the main building of the new campus was designed. More precisely, we are talking about the main circular building within Apple Park, which will have employees' offices placed in a different way, they will work in large, open spaces, instead of the closed rooms they were used to until now.

The change made by Apple for Apple Park attracted a lot of criticism from engineers and other employees, who said that the large and open space would distract them and be too noisy. The truth is that a large space where employees have their offices next to each other, without much privacy and without the possibility to block the surrounding noise, could generate problems for productivity.

The change was so bad for one of Apple's vice presidents that he forced the construction of a special building for his engineering team. I'm talking about Johny Srouji, the one who leads the chip development team with the iPhone or iPad processors, including the A11, saying that his engineers can't work in such open spaces, so that a separate building was designed specifically for his team.

Designers and other important teams of engineers work in separate spaces so that what they develop cannot be seen by other employees. It was normal for Johny Srouji's team to work the same way, but his complaints are also shared by other employees, and soon we could find out how big the problem is, especially since the employees are going to start their work in Apple Park in soon.

"When he was shown the floor plans, he was more or less just 'f*** that, f*** you, f*** this, this is bulls***.' And they built his team their own building off to the side on the campus. So they're not even in — not only are they not going along with the open floor plans, but Srouji's team is in their own building. And maybe internally they're saying it's for security or that's there's a logical reason for it, but my understanding is that that building was built because Srouji was like, 'f*** this, my team isn't working like this."
