iPhone 8 has new functions offered by the Power button that Apple intends to implement in the phone that will arrive on the market in a few weeks. The other day we were told that iPhone 8 Power button will be used to activate the personal assistant Siri, but it seems that in reality we could benefit from much more functions thanks to the new elongated button that Apple will offer.
iPhone 8 could have a variety of functions in the Power button starting with iOS 11, the Apple company seems to have tested the possibility of implementing them in native applications, or maybe even third parties. In the image below, you can see a discovery made in the HomePod source code a few weeks ago, suggesting that the Power button of the iPhone 8 will allow you to record photos, as the volume control button does now.
We know that the iPhone 8 will have a longer Power button, and the movement to take pictures using it is more natural than that of pressing the volume button, but of course Apple decides what is best. However, if the Power button will have new functions in the applications, then it will be interesting to see what Apple will allow us to do with the iPhone 8 and how long it will take until the developers implement the functions in the applications.

The iPhone 8 had a rather hard-to-believe rumor promoted the other day, suggesting that the Power button could be divided into 2 separate buttons. The idea itself is quite unusual, but it wouldn't be hard to believe that Apple could split the Power button of the iPhone 8 into 2 sections, the upper part having certain functions, while the lower part would be responsible for other functions, as it happens to other smartphones.
For the iPhone 8, such a radical change to the Power button was never rumored, but that does not mean that Apple would not intend to do it. The removal of the Home button from the iPhone 8 left a gap in functionality for Apple's phone, and it must be covered somehow, so the engineers' imagination turned to the Power button this year.
