Huawei Surpassed Apple in Phone Sales

Huawei surpassed Apple in mobile phone sales for the first time in history, but we are talking about a non-win for the Chinese this summer.

Huawei exceeded Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), in mobile phone sales, this being a first for the Chinese who set a goal some time ago to surpass the American company. Huawei has been copying the iPhone design, the iOS interface and the functions created by Apple for years, and in 2017 it would have succeeded for the first time in surpassing its rivals in the global sales of mobile phones, after they surpassed them in various markets.

Huawei has long surpassed Apple in mobile phone sales in China, and in Eastern Europe it has been successful for some time, so now only the global market remains. According to Counterpoint, Huawei would also have achieved this global achievement in the months of June and July, two "dead" months for Apple, which will be recovered after the iPhone 8 makes its appearance, and Huawei will become a distant memory.

Huawei slightly surpassed Apple in mobile phone sales at a time when everyone was waiting for the iPhone 8 and is no longer interested in the iPhone 7. Although Huawei would have surpassed Apple in these two months, we are basically talking about a non-victory, because in the end the quarterly sales matter, and here the Americans will probably come out ahead of the Chinese again thanks to the sales of the iPhone 8 and possibly the iPhone X.

Huawei has shown signs that it will surpass Apple in sales right from T2 2017 when it came close to only a few million units in sales compared to the Americans. However, Huawei's closeness to Apple could be short-lived, because if the iPhone 8 will recapture the Chinese market and the Chinese will lose sales to the Americans, then surpassing Apple will remain only a distant memory for those from Huawei in the future.

Huawei mostly sells very cheap mobile phones that no one has heard of and that customers buy only because they are extremely cheap. iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus remain the best-selling mobile phones even during the period in which Huawei would have surpassed Apple, and the Chinese do not have any model in the top 10 best-selling mobile phones in this period, but that is not surprising.

Huawei could surpass Apple in sales without problems, because when it comes to profit, it wins only 1% compared to those from Apple. In this idea, Huawei can be the biggest smartphone seller in the world, like Samsung, but it still won't reach Apple in terms of profit, just like the Koreans didn't manage to do it despite all the pain in the last few years.
