iPhone X – Exclusive Function Tested by Apple

iPhone X had an exclusive function tested by the Apple company before the decision was made to remove it because it would not have been useful to customers.

iPhone X is the phone model of the Apple company that brings the most changes from the series launched this year, it is even more sought after compared to iPhone 8. Among the functions tested by the Apple company for implementation in the iPhone X, there is also an exclusive one for its series of phones, but it was not offered in the end because there were not many people who could have used it.

iPhone X had a new function called Nightstand in testing at Apple, this being inspired by the one implemented for the Apple Watch by the Americans. Probably few of you know, but the Apple Watch can be transformed into a mini-table clock by simply placing it on its side, displaying information about the time, the battery charge level and any set alarms, the iPhone X being able to have something similar.

iPhone X had this exclusive function tested by Apple, according to senior vice president Craig Federighi, but it was not implemented in the end. Federighi said that the Nightstand function would have been extremely useful for the iPhone X if users had kept their phones charging in a dock overnight, but it seems that not many people charge their phones this way at night.

iPhone X would have been able to do the same thing if the function had been implemented, and users would have quickly seen useful information without pressing the screen, in some situations. The iPhone X cannot be left on its side while charging overnight, and if people didn't charge it in a dock, the implementation of the function would have been completely useless, at least until Apple discovered that people would consider it useful.

iPhone X can always have this Nightstand function implemented by the Apple company, since offering it does not involve a very complex process. A simple update for iOS 11 allows Apple to implement this feature in the iPhone X, so it remains to be seen whether it has made the decision to completely abandon its implementation, or just postponed the launch.

"This is definitely something we've considered. This probably makes the most sense for customers who charge their phone in a dock that tilts up the phone. "

The iPhone X has a function implemented by the Apple company that allows the screen to be turned on by double tapping it, so the Nightstand would work exactly like on the Apple Watch. iPhone X with a Nightstand function seems unlikely at the moment, but it is not excluded that Apple will decide to offer the function if enough users ask for it through emails sent to company managers.
