iPhone 8 – True Tone screen and Accommodation

The iPhone 8 has the True Tone screen of the iPad and it requires an adjustment period for some new Apple customers who have not used such a screen before.

iPhone 8 it has the True Tone screen of the iPad Pro tablets and if you have never used one before, it may take a while to get used to it. The True Tone screen was thought by Apple as an evolution of the Night Shift function, which automatically adjusts the brightness and colors of the screen depending on the ambient light, the iPhone 8 actually having a much more advanced screen than the iPhone 7.

The iPhone 8 basically has a screen that, separate from the ambient light sensor, has several other separate sensors that perceive the light around us and adjust the white balance of the colors according to it. In this idea, the iPhone 8 screen changes its color depending on the ambient light, and from the cold, standard colors, sometimes you can see warm, yellow colors, Apple saying that they are natural, but everything depends on the perception of the user.

The iPhone 8 made me disable the True Tone function of the screen after only an hour of use because it seemed to me that the screen displayed too yellow colors for my liking. True Tone has no setting functions, and from the first activation a change in colors is immediately noticeable, in sunlight the difference compared to using it disabled is small, but in rooms with low light, the iPhone 8 will have a yellower screen than usually.

iPhone 8 – True Tone screen and accommodation

iPhone 8 will change, through the new True Tone function, the colors of the screen in a way similar to that offered by the Night Shift function, only that this happens constantly. The Night Shift function is activated at certain times, if you don't want it active all the time, but the True Tone function of the iPhone 8 screen is constantly active and constantly adjusts the colors of the screen depending on the ambient light of the place where we are.

iPhone 8 needs a period of accommodation with this function, it must be activated initially in the phone setting process, and then it can be deactivated from the slider menu to control the brightness. I've never been a fan of the Night Shift function, and True Tone doesn't convince me at all on the iPhone 8, but on iPad tablets it's more useful because of the larger and more tiring screen size.

iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X all have True Tone screens, so you can use this function for all of them, it can make your evenings quieter when you use your phones. I know that many of you have started receiving your iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus phones, so I'm curious to know your opinion about the True Tone function.
