iPhone X and what will disappear from Android Phones

iPhone X will make a function of Android phones that users use forgotten, but also one that is eagerly awaited, all thanks to Apple's innovation.

iPhone X contributes to the disappearance of a very important feature of Android phones, manufacturers are already rushing to copy the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), in future products ready for launch. More precisely, because of the iPhone X, Android phone manufacturers are very interested in implementing similar Face ID functions in future products, shifting their attention from the development of in-screen fingerprint readers.

iPhone X is the first phone in history to have an advanced biometric system for facial recognition, Face ID being the name of the function offered by the Apple company for customers. Apple couldn't implement a fingerprint reader under the iPhone X screen, so it had to create Face ID for the phone, and Android phone makers want to copy what will be offered in Apple's anniversary phone.

iPhone X needed several years of development for Face ID to be produced with the functionality it has now, and Android manufacturers will have to invest a lot to copy Apple's function. Of course, they will have faster than Apple the main component of this function, the TrueDepth camera, it being produced in small quantities for the iPhone X now, but by next year the production will increase substantially.

iPhone X and what will disappear from Android phones

iPhone X forces Android phone manufacturers to offer a similar Face ID function because since 2017 fingerprint readers are no longer "fashionable". As soon as the iPhone X is officially launched and people start using Face ID and uploading videos to the Internet, Android phones with old fingerprint readers will immediately become obsolete, and this will seriously affect their sales.

"3D sensing not only enables facial recognition in security applications and allows users to create fun expressions like Apple's Animoji, on a more important level, it is a key factor in the development of AR. We therefore believe brand vendors are willing to spend more for related components."

iPhone X has a technological advance of at least 2 years in front of Android phone manufacturers thanks to Face ID, but not necessarily the hardware, but the software. Android has a function for scanning the face to unlock the phone, but compared to Face ID in the iPhone X it is a joke, because it is not nearly as secure, being able to be fooled with a simple picture by anyone.

The iPhone X sets a new trend in the smartphone industry in 2017, forcing the switch from fingerprint readers to facial scanning, but not everyone will be able to copy what Apple has. Among the Android manufacturers that will copy Face ID, I expect Xiaomi, Huawei and Samsung to be the first to offer a similar function to the iPhone X, but in an inferior, rudimentary format that will not offer anywhere near the same experience.
