The iPhone 8 Plus has a problem with the management of applications open in the background, and this has not been solved, but it also exists on the Google Pixel 2 XL, but it is more pronounced. In terms of opening applications, the Google Pixel 2 proved to be faster for the standard ones, but in the case of games it was surpassed by the iPhone 8 Plus, as is the case with most Android phones currently on the market.

iPhone 8 Plus, unfortunately, does not succeed in humiliating Android phones in terms of performance, as happened in the past with iPhone 7 Plus and the rest of the Android phones on the market. Google Pixel 2 XL runs pure Android, configured by Google, but even so, it does not manage to surpass the new phone in terms of performance, as happens with other premium Android phone models, such as Samsung's.
The iPhone 8 Plus will not soon have this problem solved in iOS 11, and this is because of the way the operating system was designed, starting to resemble Android. Google Pixel 2 has solved to a good extent the problem that affected Android phones in the past years, and this is because Google is moving forward, not backward, as Apple did with the real performance of the iPhone in 2017.
