Vodafone 4.5G with Speeds of 800 Mbps in Romania

Vodafone 4.5G was officially announced in Romania with speeds up to 800 Mbps, the new Supernet network being available to all the operator's subscribers.

Vodafone 4.5G was announced during this day by the mobile phone operator noua retea, which will allow internet browsing at speeds of up to 800 Mbps in Romania. We are talking about a substantial increase in Internet browsing speeds in our country, the Vodafone mobile operator also having a phone compatible with its new network, the Samsung Galaxy S8 being the respective model.

We are talking about a 4.5G network that offers 4×4 MIMO for phones that are able to support this technology, and that is the only way to reach speeds of up to 500 Mbps. The operator has announced that the Galaxy S8 phones that work in the network will reach speeds of up to 500 Mbps as standard, but to reach 800 Mbps, an update of the phones is needed, made in the operator's stores, as it is not offered automatically.

Vodafone 4.5G with speeds of 800 Mbps was launched in Romania

Vodafone 4.5G 800 Mbps

Vodafone managed to demonstrate reaching a theoretical speed of 740 Mbps on a Galaxy S8 during this day, so when the network is empty, high speeds can be achieved. It will be interesting to see what speeds are reached after more customers start using the 4.5G network, the results may be much different from the theoretical ones.

This is the first 4.5G network in Romania and a precursor to the 5G networks that will be available in the following years in our country. As always happens, those from Samsung are the first to offer technologies of this kind for operators, but if you have an iPhone, you should not think that you will benefit from the same high speeds, as our terminals are limited to 600 Mbps , or 800 Mbps in certain types of networks that do not exist in Romania.

With this release, the operator offers access to the 4.5G network for all existing subscriptions, but a separate option will probably have to be activated by customers. To be completely honest, I think that few people will actually have the opportunity to enjoy the 4.5G network in Romania, so it remains to be seen if the operator will announce at some point how many people actually use it.
