Samsung Galaxy S9 – Suspiciously Poor Performance

The Samsung Galaxy S9 has questionably poor performance in a first benchmark, revealing that the iPhone X will not really have competition from the Samsung product.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 has questionably poor performance in a new test published today on the Internet, showing that the differences compared to iPhone X they could be minor. You can see in the image below the performance of the Samsung Galaxy S9, the increase compared to the previous series being quite small, up to 10% - 15%.

Given that the iPhone X humiliates all Android phones in synthetic tests and scores over 10.000 points in Geekgench, many people expected the Samsung Galaxy S9 to perform better. Unfortunately, it seems that the performance of the Samsung Galaxy S9 would be below the expectations of many people who want to brag about a very fast phone next year.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 has poor performance in the image below, the phone being identified with the code we know it will have, but also with the new Exynos 9810 chip. The bad part is that the Samsung Galaxy S9 would still come with 4 GB of RAM , like the Samsung Galaxy S8, and if this happens, then the Koreans seem to be following in the footsteps of Apple, which offers only 3 GB of RAM in the iPhone X.

Samsung Galaxy S9 – Suspiciously Poor Performance

Samsung Galaxy S9 poor performance

The questionably poor performance of the Samsung Galaxy S9 is still not so hard to believe, because we have seen mistakes made by the Korean company in the past. Although the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has 6 GB of RAM, the Samsung Galaxy S9 series is not a "business" one, so it is possible to remain with 4 GB of RAM and implicitly inferior performance to that of the iPhone X.

On the other hand, it is possible that even the new Exynos 9810 chip cannot offer substantially better performance than the 8890, so the Samsung Galaxy S9 could suffer here. The performance of the Samsung Galaxy S9 will suffer seriously if Samsung cannot substantially increase the performance to give the phone a real chance against the iPhone X.

I think that the iPhone X will not have a real rival in the Samsung Galaxy S9 if the performances will be so weak, especially in the Chinese market, where a lot of emphasis is placed on them. Having said that, since the Samsung Galaxy S9 is close to entering production, it is very possible that this performance test is 100% real.
