iPhone is the most popular camera for taking pictures

The iPhone remains the most popular camera for taking pictures in 2017 as well, the American company's phone maintaining its top position.

iPhone it remained the most popular camera for taking pictures in 2017, beating any other type of smartphone, but also standard cameras, or DSLRs, which take better pictures. We are talking here about information provided by Flickr, one of the largest websites where users upload photos, and the iPhone dominated the top of uploads again, as expected, based on the experience of the past years.

The iPhone was used by 54% of people who uploaded photos to Flickr in 2017, the remaining 46% being shared between all other phone and camera manufacturers. On the second place was placed Canon with 23% of the total, and on the third place we have Nikon with 18% of the total, but for the iPhone we are talking about a new increase after in 2015 the phone collected only 47% of the total pictures uploaded to the network.

2014 was the year in which Apple surpassed Nikon to become the manufacturer of phones, or cameras, with the most pictures uploaded to the network in a single year, and since then it has not lost its position. In 2017, 50% of the pictures uploaded to Flickr were taken using smartphones, and only 33% of them came from DSLRs, a sign that the world is still focusing on mobile phones.

Although Flickr has many pictures uploaded to the network annually, it would be interesting to find out information from Facebook or Instagram, where at least as many pictures are uploaded. Instagram would probably have the most interesting data, considering that there we are talking about an application exclusively for mobile phones, but of course Facebook says absolutely nothing about these statistics.
