Only 2 days after what The Apple Store in Zurich was evacuated due to an iPhone battery which exploded while being replaced by an Apple employee, a similar incident happened in Valencia. The Apple Store Calle Colón was the scene of this new incident, and according to local media, the phone's battery iPhone it exploded around 13:30 local time, an employee was working on changing it.
Of course, the Apple Store was filled with the toxic smoke emitted by the battery that exploded, the employees evacuating all the customers who were in the store at that moment, and opening the windows to ventilate the location. The firefighters were called to the scene, but did not intervene because the smoke had already been removed from the store, the fire generated by the battery being extinguished with earth thrown on it by the employees.
Unlike the incident in Zurich, in Valencia there were no injuries, not even in terms of the employee who tried to replace the iPhone battery, so we are talking about an incident without too many complications for Apple. In Zurich it was about the battery of an iPhone 6S, but it is not known what kind of iPhone had the battery replaced in the shop in Valencia, but it is possible that it is the same model.
According to municipal sources, the outbreak flooded the upper floor with smoke. The firefighters did not intervene because store employees opened the windows quickly to ventilate the establishment. The workers threw dirt on the burned battery and vacated the premises without incidents.
These two cases are the first, as far as I know, in which iPhone batteries explode in Apple stores while they are being changed, but there are very high chances that similar incidents will be repeated in the next period. Since many people want to change their iPhone battery to restore their phone's performance to normal and since Apple rushes the repairs, it is possible that these situations are constantly repeated.
