The chief of staff of the US president, Donald Trump, imposed this new rule, so that all those who work, at least in the west wing of the White House, will not be able to use their gadgets at work. Apart from smartphones, tablets and smartwatches, it seems that not even fitness bracelets can be used in some areas of the White House, paranoia being at a high level there. Officially, the reasons for the implementation of this policy are to stop the "leaks" of information to the press and to increase the productivity of the staff, but everyone believes what they want.
"The policy goes further than originally expected and is not just limited to personal cell phones. It also includes laptops, smartwatches and "devices with WiFi, Bluetooth, radio, or cellular capabilities" and "any portable device that emits an electric signal and was not issued by the White House Communications Agency," according to the memo."
The reality is that a few months ago the iPhone of the former chief of staff of the US president was compromised and confidential information of the administration was accessed. Since then, discussions began about banning smartphones in the premises, something that happened, and now other types of gadgets are also banned.
