iPhone XS: The Unpleasant Surprise for Samsung

The iPhone XS is back in the spotlight today as new battery and screen information has been revealed to us by the Asian press.

iPhone XS will be released this year together with an iPhone XS Plus, the Apple company preparing the two mobile phones for release in the fall of this year, one year away from the launch of the iPhone X. Because the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus will be expected by many customers, the Apple company tries to solve in time the problems with the number of components it will need, so it turns to new manufacturers.

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus will have screens with a diagonal of 5.8 inches and 6.4 inches, and they will be manufactured not only by Samsung, but also by LG, the Koreans entering the distribution chain for the first time this component. LG is preparing a dedicated production line of OLED screens especially for the iPhone XS, but Samsung will still remain the main supplier of this component.

iPhone XS – LG will produce OLED screens and batteries

The iPhone XS will also have a new battery that will also have the shape of the letter L, as in the iPhone X, and this will be manufactured by LG Chem, a division of the Korean company. And in the case of batteries for iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus, those from LG will have a dedicated production line for the Apple company, which is in the process of preparation at the moment, so that it will be ready by the fall of this year, the more likely.

"Clear delivery date was not confirmed. However, the selection of an additional RFPCB vendor for OLED is related to LG Display OLED panel supply. As LG Display supplies OLED to Apple, it is said that the RFPCB required for the display module will be newly decided. If it does not happen suddenly such as an accident or badness, it means that it will mass-produce and supply LG Chem's 'L' battery."

The iPhone XS will have components manufactured by LG because Apple wants to substantially reduce its dependence on Samsung and other component manufacturers for its mobile phones. Samsung does not produce batteries for the iPhone X, but a company from China does and Apple wants to further diversify its partners here, so LG comes "in line" with serious investments to produce batteries according to the specifications imposed by the Apple company.
