HomePod, the company's first smart speaker Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, will be delivered to the first customers starting next Friday, but the Apple company has other plans for it. Specifically, HomePod will be available with a 50% discount for Apple employees who are willing to buy the new smart speaker to use in their own homes in 2018.
Apple's promotion for HomePod is dedicated exclusively to employees and is identical to the one the Americans offered in 2015, when they launched the Apple Watch. By offering the HomePod at a discounted price for employees, Apple allows them to purchase the smart speaker at prices starting at $175, excluding taxes, a perfect price for it.
However, Apple has something else planned, because the employees who will test the HomePod will also be able to provide information about the problems they encounter when using the product. If data of this kind regarding the HomePod cannot be collected from regular customers, the Apple company can collect a lot of information from its employees regarding the product.
It is also possible that Apple has overestimated the demand for HomePod and has large stocks of unsold speakers, it can still be ordered with delivery on February 9. Regardless of the reasons why Apple is selling the HomePod at half price for employees, we will see a lot of products sold on auction websites at low prices.
Good news for Apple employees: the HomePod will be 50% off for the next two months. They previously did this for the Apple Watch when it was launched.
