Smartphones with a diamond screen promise to offer the highest degree of protection in case of accidents and provide high consumer satisfaction.

One of the biggest problems of a smartphone it is the fragility of the screen and you can consider it a kind of "Achilles heel" for smart mobile phones. A lot of people spend serious amounts of money every year to protect their phone screen from cracks, and one company wants to take advantage of the desire of many to protect their phones to launch something, perhaps, innovative.

An American company is developing smartphones with diamond screens that should reach the market in 2019, the material being more resistant than Gorilla Glass. We are talking about diamonds manufactured in the laboratory and which are formed randomly arranged nanocrystals to "discourage" deep cracks in the screen, and this should ensure higher resistance.

The company that develops these crack-resistant screens also has a substance in the works that can be applied over normal screens to give them high protection. The technology was presented for the first time in 2017 and promised for launch by the end of the year, but of course that did not happen, the company president promising that 2019 will be the year of its launch.

"Now, one company says it's working with a phonemaker to test the first phone screen made with diamond glass. Akhan's diamond glass uses a nanocrystal pattern that randomly arranges the crystals, instead of lining them up along their crystal planes — that arrangement discourages deep cracks from forming and damaging the materials underneath."

At the moment there are smartphones that are tested with diamond screens and it is not known how well they perceive touches and how well they render images for users. Despite this, if the experience of using such a mobile phone is up to the expectations of users, then we will definitely see a high degree of adoption among smartphone manufacturers.
