Company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), seems to lead to a lack of units iPhone 5C 16 GB at the moment, and this is because some units of this kind are replaced with 32 GB models under warranty. The Apple company announced the other day to its authorized services that any iPhone 5C 16 GB models brought in for repairs can be replaced with 32 GB models.
We are talking here only about the iPhone 5C models that suffer from defects so great that the units must be completely replaced by Apple service and not about others. Apple completely replaces iPhones only if they suffer from major defects related to the logic board or other components that cannot be easily replaced.
If, for example, the iPhone 5C phone has problems with the screen, camera, or other components that can be replaced by service employees, then the phone will not be completely replaced. However, considering that the iPhone 5C 16 GB has not been sold since 2014, the number of customers who still use such models is certainly very small.
"Orders for whole unit service inventory of iPhone 5c (16GB) models may be substituted to iPhone 5c (32GB) models until further notice."
If you still have an iPhone 5C that needs to be replaced, then you might get lucky and get a 32GB model instead of the 16GB one, but no one knows how long this policy will last.
