Samsung Galaxy X was presented for the entire year 2017 as the phone with a foldable OLED screen that the Korean company wants to launch on global markets during 2018. In reality, the Korean company announced that it will not launch a smartphone with a foldable screen in 2018, and now rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy X name will be reserved by the Korean company for other mobile phone models.
The Samsung Galaxy X is going to be the version that will replace the Samsung Galaxy S9 next year on the global markets, the Koreans taking over the idea of those from Apple to make the transition to a new series of mobile phones. Next year will be 10 years since the launch of the first model in the Galaxy S series, and taking over the idea of Apple from last year with iPhone X, the Koreans intend to launch the Samsung Galaxy X with a change for the brand.

Samsung Galaxy X is going to be a simplification of the names for the phones of the Korean company and it seems that the Arabic number 10 will not be used, but the Romanian X, as Apple chose to do. Of course, you don't have to be a very skilled analyst to think that the Samsung Galaxy X is a natural evolution for the Samsung phone line, but just a continuation of the trend of copying Apple products, even the anniversary ones.
"But according to a source from Korea, the S9 duo may be the last we might see in the S series as the company plans to adopt a different naming scheme to at least conform with the present day reality. The source has it that the 10th generation of the 'Galaxy S series' which ordinarily should be called the Samsung Galaxy S10 will get renamed as 'Galaxy X series' from 2019."
Samsung Galaxy X should also bring a substantial design change, plus innovative features to be worthy of such an important anniversary and I think Samsung will think the same way in 2019. Apple offered a very important change with the launch of iPhone X , and a Samsung Galaxy X released without substantial changes will be a huge disappointment for fans and could affect the global sales of the Korean company in 2019.
