Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is preparing the launch of a cheaper model of the smart speaker during this year HomePod, but also of one cheaper model of the MacBook Air, and now we find out how much it would cost. We heard about a cheaper version of the HomePod a few weeks ago from various rumors, but only yesterday information appeared suggesting that a cheaper version of the MacBook Air will be launched.
Today we also have some prices for the new products, with Asian analysts claiming that the cheaper version of HomePod will cost between $150 and $200 in the US. If this is true, then the cheaper version of the HomePod would have a price almost halved compared to the standard version, and this could seriously increase sales in 2018.
Rumor has it that the HomePod would not sell well due to the high price, and a cheaper version could attract more interest from those who are not sure that they need such a product. The cheaper version of the HomePod would also be smaller than the standard version, and this is where the price reduction for it would come from.
