Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus recorded poor sales, which affected the Samsung company, the Koreans having to lose due to the lack of major functions.

Samsung Galaxy S9 WEAK SALES AFFECTS Samsung

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus had a very difficult start in 2018, both phone models registering pre-orders 30% lower than those of the Samsung Galaxy S8 series. Although those from Samsung announced that more than 1 million people visited the stores where the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus were displayed, it seems that few people were convinced to buy these phone models.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus had sales of 8 million units in the first two months of availability on the market, as high as those of the Samsung Galaxy S8 series, but lower than those of the Samsung Galaxy S7 series. Theoretically, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus are not a failure because they do not have lower sales than the Samsung Galaxy S8 series, but they affected the total sales of phones for the Korean company.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus were launched in mid-March, but despite going on sale in Q1 2018, they didn't help Samsung register an increase in smartphone sales. Smartphone sales for the Samsung company fell by 2.4% in the first three months of the year, despite the fact that they launched the Samsung Galaxy S9 series, which should have recorded good sales.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus did not have a positive effect on Samsung's smartphone sales in Q1 2018 compared to Q1 2017, but Apple registered an increase of 2.8%, although it did not launch any very important model. Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus seem to be mostly ignored by customers around the world, otherwise Korean sales should have been at least equal to those in Q1 2017.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus are interesting phones, phones that deserve to be in the attention of customers from all over the world, but it seems that the high price and the lack of news compared to the Samsung Galaxy S8 series did not really motivate purchases. Probably even those from Samsung expected the Samsung Galaxy S9 series to have problems on the market since they did not implement very big changes, customers ignoring what was offered.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus also entered massive discounts very shortly after the launch, including the basic prices being reduced by 10% by the Koreans just a month after the official launch. The evolution of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus can't possibly be better in the future, since in the launch phase it wasn't great, but Samsung has other divisions, apart from the mobile one, that make money.
