Google and Apple Receive a HARD Blow from Microsoft

Google and Apple receive a hard blow from the Microsoft company, those from Redmond yesterday making the announcement that could have a strong impact in 2018.

Google Apple Hit Microsoft HARD

Google si Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), they received a hard and very surprising blow from the Microsoft company, one that in the end could have serious consequences for the first two companies, if they don't find a method to counter everything. Microsoft announced last night that it will offer application developers 95% of the price paid by users for applications purchased from the Windows Store, and this in the conditions that Apple and Google only offer 70% of the selling price.

Google and Apple will have to find a serious compensation for application developers after the change made by Microsoft, and this is because the percentage that remains with them after the sale is much higher. Microsoft will only take a 5% commission on Windows Store app sales, while Google and Apple will still charge a 30% commission on app sales, but probably not for long.

Google and Apple Receive a HARD Blow from Microsoft

Google and Apple have the largest application stores on the planet, with the largest number of developers interested in producing applications for phones, tablets and computers, and Microsoft's move is a desperate one. However, the company limits the percentage only for applications that are not games, and the percentage drops to 85% if the purchase was made following the promotion made by Microsoft, so Google and Apple will have to provide additional motivations in the future for developers.

"Starting later this year, consumer applications (not including games) sold in the Microsoft Store will deliver to developers 95% of the revenue earned from the purchase of your application or any in-app products in your application, when a customer uses a deep link to get to and purchase your application."

Google and Apple generate most of the revenues from the AppStore and Google Play through the games sold to customers, and since Microsoft does not provide 95% of sales for these types of applications, their developers will not go anywhere. In the case of the other types of applications, there is a very high possibility that developers will be much more interested in the Windows Store than in the Apple and Google stores, even with a percentage of 85% of the sales price of the applications.
