Android P has implemented these gestures to greatly simplify the way users interact with phones to control functions. Android P has these gestures permanently implemented by Google, so they will not disappear even if someone complains that they are too similar to those of the iPhone X. Moreover, since Google has removed the virtual Home button from Android P, we can expect future Android phones to have the same functionality.

Android P unifies the functionality of the phones to a good extent so that they look more like the iPhone X, so there will be many clones that will copy the phone from Apple.
