In this idea, consumer protection groups are asking the US authorities to split each of these services into separate companies to be much easier to control, and of course Facebook never wants this.

Facebook knows very well how dangerous it would be to divide companies into various separate subsidiaries, but also how problematic it would be to impose restrictions on the platforms it owns, so it will definitely fight to prevent this. Facebook is a very big company, with enormous power at the global level, and whatever attempts there may be to divide it, it is very hard to believe that any state will be able to do this without a fierce fight with the Americans.
