Those from Apple have implemented in iOS 12 exactly the same functionality as the one in the Samsung Galaxy S9, maybe with more customization options, but in essence the function is extremely similar, as you can see.
Samsung Galaxy S9 had this function criticized by many journalists, who stated that it is very scary and strange, but I am curious to see what they will say after Apple implemented something similar in iOS 12. The first impressions of those who tested the Memoji function in iOS 12 are positive, a total contrast to what we saw for the Samsung Galaxy S9 from the journalists who tested the AR Emoji function of the Koreans.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 does have a functionality that seems harder to use and doesn't seem to be as friendly and fun, but you can't expect Samsung to do something really good before Apple offers something similar. The fact that iOS 12 offers this functionality makes me understand that Apple has been working on the system for some time, so the Samsung Galaxy S9 could have something done in a hurry just to be released before Apple.
Samsung Galaxy S9 and iOS 12 offer with this function the possibility to use phones in a more fun way, something that not all manufacturers have in mind when they create news for their products. If you were to ask me, I would say that iOS 12 has better implemented the idea of creating 3D avatars, and this through the lens of how the software is thought, but probably the Samsung Galaxy S9 will also have improvements in the future.
