iOS 11 has today a major change from the Apple company for the iPhone and iPad, the American company taking quite a few users by surprise with the decision. As of last night, iOS 11.3.1 is NO LONGER signed by Apple for installation on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, so iOS 11.4 remains the only version that can be installed.
The decision of those from Apple comes on the same day that the semi-jailbreak Houdini has been updated to be compatible with iOS 11.3.1, a full jailbreak solution is also in the works. Practically, 11.3.1 iOS jailbreak becomes unavailable for those who do not have iOS 11.3.1 or an earlier version installed in their iPhone and iPad, the possibility of jailbreaking disappears for them.
iOS 11: The MAJOR change for iPhone and iPad
Unfortunately, those from Apple act in a similar way after each new update released for iOS, but this time it hastened things a bit because of the jailbreak solutions. It was expected that Apple would block the possibility at some point, but the rush to launch a new iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak solution forced Apple to protect its iOS.
iOS 11.3.1 was a version of the iOS operating system that was affected by an important vulnerability that allowed the exploitation of iPhones and iPads, so we should not think that it would not be blocked. That said, starting today, you can only install iOS 11.4, iOS 11.4.1 beta, and iOS 12 beta on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, but nothing else.
