Google Earth GREAT Feature Released

Google Earth is a platform launched by the company Google for users around the world to allow them to see images of the globe from space, and starting today it has a great new feature. More precisely, Google Earth allows users to use a new function to measure the distances between various points, but also various locations that are visible on the map, something that until now was not possible for those who used the platform.

Google Earth allows users to select two points on a map to measure the distance between them, and unlike Google Maps there is the freedom to select the points to be compared. More than that, Google Earth also gives us information about the distance without taking into account the roads we can take to get there, so we have a much more accurate measurement of the real distance between two locations on the planet, something that we could not find out too easily.

Google Earth also allows people to measure buildings, parks, states, or entire countries, something that even Google Maps does not allow at the moment, so we are talking about a very useful function. Those from Google had not previously announced that they would offer this functionality for users, and at the moment the browser application Google Chrome allows the use of the new function, the application for Android will have it this week.

"Ever wonder how far your hometown is from the North Pole? Or maybe, you simply want to measure the length of that hike you just finished. One of the most requested features for Google Earth is the ability to measure distance and areas. So today, we're adding a Measure Tool, available on Chrome today, Android this week and iOS is coming soon. Check out a few ways to use the tool."

Google Earth is available both in web version and in applications for Android and iOS, and in the case of the latter the functionality will be launched in a not too distant future, so you have to be patient. If you are interested in trying this new function of Google Earth, you must install the application from Google Play, or access the platform through the Google Chrome browser for mobile or desktop.
