UBER is to Blame for Traffic Jams

UBER Blame Traffic Congestion

UBER, Lyft, and other similar services are considered to be one of the main reasons why there are traffic jams in the cities where they are active, according to a study by SCHALLER CONSULTING. Although services like UBER and Lyft say that their existence helps to decongest traffic because people no longer leave home by car, the study says that in reality the cars of these services generate greater traffic congestion.

UBER and Lyft are presented as the main problem of traffic congestion in big cities in the USA, and this is because the service cars are always on the roads, and instead of people using public transport, they choose them. Even cycling, or walking, is no longer chosen by people in favor of services such as UBER and Lyft,

UBER is to Blame for Traffic Jams

UBER and Lyft are presented as direct competitors for public transportation, or taxis, without reducing the need for people to use a car, or to buy another car, as the companies behind them would have promised. According to an analysis made in major US cities, services like UBER and Lyft have increased by 5.7 billion miles the distances traveled by cars in those cities compared to the periods before their appearance.

"Shared rides add to traffic because most users switch from non-auto modes. In addition, there is added mileage between trips as drivers wait for the next dispatch and then drive to a pickup location. Finally, even in a shared ride, some of the trip involves just one passenger (eg, between the first and second pickup)."

UBER and Lyft always keep their cars in traffic to always have one available to pick up each customer who wants to make a ride, and this contributes to a substantial increase in traffic congestion. The reality is that the study could be 100% real, but neither UBER nor Lyft will ever admit it, just as they can't prove that they actually reduced car usage, or the number of people who wanted to drive. buy a car
