Huawei: The announcement that should SCARED Samsung

Huawei made an extremely important announcement last night, and Samsung should be very worried about the Chinese company's plans.

Huawei Announcement SCARED Samsung

Huawei had a very good week, the Chinese company being declared as the second largest smartphone seller globally in Q2 2018, managing to beat Apple. Huawei was also declared the best phone seller with cutout in the screen, beating Apple here as well, and now the Chinese are becoming confident and ambitious, declaring that their next target is none other than the Samsung company, but that was to be expected.

Huawei has announced that it wants to become the largest smartphone manufacturer globally by the end of 2019, an extremely ambitious goal since in 2018 it will barely manage to reach 200 million sales on the smartphone market. Samsung has been selling over 320 million smartphones annually for several years, so Huawei's ambitions are without any real support, but attacking Samsung is the only logical way for the Chinese.

Huawei increased its smartphone sales by approximately 30% in the first six months of 2018, but to surpass Samsung, it must increase its sales by more than 50% in 2019, which is quite difficult to achieve. The key to success for Huawei would be the USA, a market where the manufacturer is not currently present due to the authorities, but if it finds a way to convince them that its products are safe, then it has a chance to achieve its goal.

"Huawei, which just edged past Apple Inc. to become the world's second-largest smartphone maker, wants to be top of the heap before the end of 2019. Consumer division chief Richard Yu on Friday said he wants Huawei to be No. 1 in smartphones by the fourth quarter of next year, with a market share of more than 20 percent — despite acknowledging its virtual absence in a pivotal US market."

Huawei also needs a successful strategy in competition with the rest of the Chinese manufacturers, and this is because although it is the leader on the smartphone market there, this does not mean that things will remain like this in 2019. Huawei still has a lot of work to do to ends 2018 in front of Apple in the top smartphone sales, so it will be interesting to see how successful the Chinese will be in the end to surpass Samsung in sales.
