Apple announces NEW Rules for iPhone and iPad Applications

Apple announced today important new rules for iPhone and iPad applications available in the App Store, they will be imposed soon.

Apple Rules iPhone iPad Applications

Today the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), announced a new series of rules for the applications that are published in the App Store for iPhone and iPad, they will come into force starting on October 3. The Apple company obliges application developers to include in the new titles a link to a page listing the terms and conditions for using the applications.

Until now, Apple had offered the option to display a section of this kind, and obliges the developers who offer subscriptions to list such a page within the applications. Starting now, all users are required to list a page with terms and conditions that users can access directly from the application, otherwise the applications will be deleted from the App Store.

All applications in the App Store will have to have such a page with terms and conditions, even if they do not require an Internet connection to be used by iPhone and iPad users. Apple says that on this page it must be specified what kind of data are collected by the applications, and to what extent they are used, and how users can request the deletion of the data.

This change is clearly made because of the GDPR, which brought a lot of new rules for websites, applications, authorities, and more, and those from Apple had to make the change. The applications in the App Store that do not have such an information page will not be deleted starting from October 3, but the updates made after that date will have to contain that page.
