Google: The new HUGE FINE Prepared in the USA

Google risks a new huge fine prepared in the USA by the authorities, the American company being investigated for the practices it has in the platform.

Google is, apparently, the target of a new investigation regarding the way in which it carries out its activity, but this time not in the European Union, but in the USA, where GPS monitoring is seen with less than favorable eyes by the authorities. The state of Arizona intends to investigate the way Google tracks its users who use its services, and could apply a huge fine against the company if it finds that it is not doing exactly right.

Google has investigated the system that monitors the locations of Android users in its applications, although they have disabled the option for monitoring, but without success, because the setting is not taken into account. The Attorney General of the State of Arizona is the one who initiated this investigation into Google's practices, and if it is discovered that the law has been violated, then a very large fine can be imposed against the company by the local authorities.

Google says it notified its users ahead of time about how their location data is collected and analyzed, but the US authorities claim that things were not done properly. Practically, both sides claim the exact opposite, and those from Google will, most likely, succeed in finding a legal method by which to prove that they have complied with the law in order to avoid a huge fine to be imposed by the authorities against them.

"Google's alleged practice of recording location data about Android device owners even when they believe they have opted out of such tracking has sparked an investigation in Arizona, where the state's attorney general could potentially levy a hefty fine against the search giant."

Google was fined by the European Commission with more than 3 billion euros due to other problems regarding the Android platform this year, but even there it contested the official decision. It is difficult to say how big the fine that the US authorities are preparing could be, but it is expected that it will be somewhat lower than the European fine, and Google will attack it in the courts anyway to get rid of it.
