iOS 12 vs iOS 11.4.1: Battery Life on iPhone

iOS 12 has today compared the battery autonomy of iPhone phones with that offered by iOS 11.4.1 until now to show us the final differences.

iOS 12 autonomy iOS 11.4.1 iPhone

iOS 12 and iOS 11.4.1 have the battery autonomy compared to phones today iPhone, to see to what extent the Apple company managed, or not, to offer an improvement for the customers who use its products. I have to admit that after installing the GM version of iOS 12 I noticed a slight increase in battery life for the iPhone X, and I maintain my opinion, although in what follows you will see that the reality is different for the rest of the phones, unfortunately.

iOS 12 reduces the battery life of iPhones by up to 24 minutes, which practically disappear for normal use compared to iOS 11.4.1, but of course this only up to iPhone 7. In the video clip below you can see a comparison regarding the battery autonomy between iOS 12 and iOS 11.4.1 on iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, and iPhone 7, in the case of the second one being the biggest decrease in autonomy, of 24 minutes.

iOS 12 vs iOS 11.4.1: Battery Life on iPhone

iOS 12 reduces, compared to iOS 11.4.1, the autonomy of the iPhone 5S battery by 16 minutes, for iPhone 6 the decrease is 24 minutes, for iPhone 6S by 12 minutes, and for iPhone 7 by 18 minutes. All these phone models are old, have small batteries, but I think that for the Plus models, and for the iPhone X, the autonomy situation in iOS 12 is much better, and we will definitely see credible tests including for these phone models.

iOS 12 has not been announced by the Apple company for battery autonomy improvements, and this is perfectly normal, because in general Americans do not really list this change as one of those offered for updates. On the other hand, here is that iOS 12 brings for iOS 11.4.1 a significant reduction of battery autonomy for old iPhone models, and for the newest ones I think there is a reverse evolution, or there is no change.

iOS 12 will be released tomorrow, September 17, by the Apple company in the final and public version for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
