Huawei has a disappointing announcement regarding a phone that is expected by many people, here are the serious problems the Chinese company has.

huawei announcement foldable phone

Huawei is going to make a disappointing announcement in the next period regarding a phone awaited by many fans, and this is due to the fact that his partners cannot fulfill his production requirements. More precisely, Huawei had announced that it would present, at least, a foldable phone in the fall of this year, maybe even in October, but it seems that in reality its plans would be seriously modified because of the Chinese from the BOE.

Huawei relied on those from BOE to produce the flexible screens needed to launch its foldable phone, but unfortunately this company cannot manufacture such components to the quality standards imposed by the Koreans. BOE had prototypes prepared including for the Apple company, but the American requirements are even stricter, so BOE decided to give up for the time being the production of flexible OLED screens, and Huawei suffers the most.

Huawei: DISAPPOINTING ANNOUNCEMENT regarding the Very Early Phone

Huawei could buy flexible OLED screens from Samsung, which wants to launch the Samsung GALAXY X this year, or early next year, but will not want to increase the accounts of direct competitors. Those from Samsung sent screen prototypes to the Chinese from Xiaomi and Oppo for testing, avoiding to offer those from Huawei anything, and this suggests that a collaboration between the two companies for the launch of flexible phones is impossible.

"One year after BOE announced that it had begun operating the 6th generation flexible OLED plant 'B7' in May last year, it has not yet achieved a remarkable supply performance in the world market. Huawei has secured some Chinese smartphone makers as its customers, but it is not enough to meet global standards in terms of quantity and quality."

Huawei doesn't really have solutions outside of Samsung, because there are no other companies that produce OLED screens in industrial quantities, so until BOE solves its problems, it remains without any solution. Huawei won't be able to release a foldable phone too soon, so we'll see what Samsung will do with its phone, and maybe when it decides to launch its product, it will offer something superior compared to what the Koreans are about to announce.
