WARNING! WhatsApp Makes an IMPORTANT CHANGE

WhatsApp is making an extremely important change for users around the world, with the company issuing a warning that everyone needs to know about right now.

whatsapp backup warning

WhatsApp had an important warning announced a few months ago both by the company and by those from Google, following an agreement concluded with Facebook to provide a very important service. More precisely, users who use WhatsApp on phones with the Android operating system will have backups saved for free in Google Drive, without limits, companies offering people more options to not lose their data.

WhatsApp has this free offer only on phones with the Android operating system, not on iPhones, and this is because in the case of iOS the backups are saved in iCloud, for which space we have to pay. Returning to Android, in order not to lose the data saved in the past, WhatsApp users are obliged to make a new backup of their data in Google Drive by November 12, otherwise any other older backup will be automatically deleted from the American company's platform.

WARNING! WhatsApp Makes an IMPORTANT CHANGE

WhatsApp has this obligation for old backups because the method by which backups are stored is changing, and any backups older than 1 year will disappear from Google Drive. If WhatsApp users make regular backups, they benefit from unlimited free, but if the backups stop and are not updated for 1 year, then they will be automatically deleted from Google's Google Drive platform .

WhatsApp brings this gratuity to its users, but unfortunately it also comes with a bad side, and that's because those backups saved in Google Drive are NOT encrypted, so both Facebook and Google can access them. In the same way, any hacker who hacks your Google Drive account can steal the data from your WhatsApp backups, so you have to be very careful how you manage these accounts, otherwise you can wake up with the data accessed by anyone.
