WhatsApp was forced to make a historic decision this month, the American company having no other solution to solve a problem that put the messaging platform at the center of a huge scandal. As you probably already knew, WhatsApp was used in India by many people to distribute a lot of false information, which ultimately led to the killing of a large number of people, and the Americans did not find a solution to the problem.

However, WhatsApp has taken an amazing decision to inform people about the danger posed by fake news distributed through its platform, so it has decided to promote its message on the streets of India. WhatsApp first bought advertisements in newspapers to inform the population, restricted various functions of the application, but in the end ended up doing public shows in which it demonstrated the great danger represented by false information distributed through the platform.

WhatsApp rented a truck, painted it so that everyone would recognize it, then used actors to do various skits and sing specially created songs to inform the world about the danger of fake news. After each representation made by the actors from WhatsApp, the people who gather in front of the company's truck also receive various leaflets with information recommending them to stop being stupid and not to kill people with stones in the middle of the street based on strange messages received through the platform.

WhatsApp has never made a decision of this kind, not even to promote its own platform, but it is obliged by the local government, which threatened the company with banning the platform if people are killed due to fake news. WhatsApp also collaborates with mobile phone operators in India to inform its more than 200 million users that they should not believe everything they see in its application.
