UPC announces DISCOUNTS on Customer Subscriptions

UPC has announced price increases for the subscriptions of customers from Romania, the telecom operator wanting to demand higher prices from subscribers in our country.

UPC started this month to notify some of its customers who have subscriptions for using its services that their monthly price will be increased starting in November. The ones from UPC say that they are obliged to increase the prices of customers' subscriptions due to the increase in costs for the provision of services, so that some of the customers will have to pay higher subscriptions by 3.5 LEI starting in November, if they still keep the services.

UPC did not apply this price increase to all customers who have subscriptions to use its services, but only to some of them, so if you have not yet received an email notifying you of this change, it would may not apply to you. The amount of 3.5 LEI is anyway insignificant for almost any type of customer, but the UPC has informed the customers that if they do not agree with this change, they can cancel the contract at any time, within a maximum of 30 days from the notification.

UPC has not detailed which of the customers who use its services will be affected by this increase in subscriptions, so these details probably remain to be provided by the company as the increases are applied. It is still interesting that UPC chooses to make these price increases for subscriptions in a market where the competition is very high, and RCS & RDS and Telekom are struggling to offer the lowest possible prices for their own subscriptions.

"Dear customer, We would like to inform you that, starting with the November invoice, the monthly price of your subscription for the customer code will increase by 3.5 Lei (VAT included). This tariff change reflects some of the significant increase in the cost of providing services."

UPC is one of the largest operators of telecom services in Romania, with several million customers throughout the country, recently the company was bought by those from Vodafone, and the increase in price could be related to this. It is possible that Vodafone wants to make UPC's activity more efficient, and the price increase for subscriptions could be necessary so that the services can continue to be offered at the same standards for customers in Romania.
