Google COLLECTS Data from almost ALL Android Applications

Google is accused of collecting data from almost all applications created for the Android operating system, here is what the American company says in response.

google data applications

Google collects data from 90% of the applications available for Android at the moment, and according to a study, we are talking about users' personal data, not any kind of existing information. Oxford University researchers came to this conclusion by analyzing approximately 1 million Android applications available in the Play Store, with Google collecting data from 90% of them while they are being used by people.

Google is just one of the companies that collects data from Android applications, and that's because there are other companies that do the same thing, their number being very large, unfortunately for users. On average, an Android application shares user data with about 10 third-party companies, and 20% of them with more than 20 third-party companies, but Google is the only common denominator for 90% of existing applications for the Android operating system.

Google can collect data including users' age, gender, location, plus other data that are then used to display personalized ads for them in applications or on the web. The researchers claim that the data that reaches Google, or companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, or Amazon, would be transmitted anonymously, so that users could not be identified based on them, at least theoretically, because in reality we do not know what is happening.

"A new study has revealed that 90 percent of all Android applications share personal data with Google, raising questions about the volume of information collected by ad-supported software and the ability for tech giants to create profiles of individuals. Google told the newspaper that it disputed the researcher's methodologies, arguing that some of the sharing was an app reporting crash statistics and analytics. The researchers responded by saying many of these rights went beyond such use cases."

Google has stated that the researchers' data are false, and that some of the data represent information regarding application blocking, or data regarding their use, but nothing related to personal information about users. For years and years, Google has been collecting information from users all over the world, just like Apple, Samsung, Amazon, Microsoft, and many other companies, but only the biggest of them end up being "pointed with the finger" for what what does everyone do
