Android has a very important function eliminated by the company Google only a few years after integrating it, the Americans being forced to do so because of the way it was exploited by some. More precisely, a few years ago, Google integrated a new function in Android that allows receiving alerts via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi depending on the location where we are, the idea being to discover events, promotions, or anything else interesting and relevant depending on our location.
Android has abused this functionality by a varied range of businesses that take advantage of what Google offers to bombard users with spam, which cannot be filtered, because of the way the system was designed. Those at Google have realized that people are suffocated by spam messages through this system available for Android, so they have come to the conclusion that it can no longer be offered in this form, so it will be completely removed.

Android will no longer receive some types of notifications starting on December 6, when Google will partially block the system for some of those it works with to offer the functionality worldwide. Unfortunately, Android users will continue to receive notifications from physical beacons they pass by, those from Google having no way to block this functionality, at least not without an update for the operating system it offers.
"Our goal was to bring relevant and engaging content to users - to provide useful information proactively. Developers have leveraged this technology to let users know about free wifi nearby, provide guides while in a museum, and list transit schedules at bus stops. Ultimately, we have determined that these notifications did not meet that bar. As a result, we have decided to discontinue support for Nearby Notifications. We will stop serving Nearby Notifications on December 6th, 2018.”
Android can have all these notifications blocked by users through the section that allows the administration of notifications for phones with this operating system, but Google considered that this is not enough. Android is not the only operating system that has this functionality, those from Apple also implement it in iOS, but for now it is not abused in a similar way, although it would not be excluded to see similar decisions made by Apple.
