OLX. The largest website of sales announcements in Romania announced today which are the most sold mobile phones by Romanians, but also the number of phones sold this year in our country, separately from online stores. According to OLX, 1.8 million phones are put up for sale by Romanians through the classifieds website, the number being very high, but it is not said how many of them are new, and how many of them are used.

No less than 400.000 Romanians put the 1.8 million phones for sale in our country, and according to the website, 72% of the phones bought by Romanians are through this platform, because they are cheaper than in stores. In terms of popularity, phones Samsung ranks first on OLX, with 219.854 units sold in 2018, while iPhone occupied the second place, with 142.069 units sold also during the last year.

On the third place in the top we find the company Huawei, which has 46.268 phones sold, a figure 3 times lower than that of iPhone phones, and more than 5 times lower than that of Samsung phones. According to those from OLX, the average selling time of a Samsung phone or iPhone is 12 days through the platform, while in the case of Huawei phones the duration is 13 days, the difference between these periods being the smallest.

The average selling price of a mobile phone through the classifieds website is 1450 LEI for iPhone, 954 LEI for Samsung, and 835 LEI for Huawei, so for the most part, old and cheap phones are sold. It was expected that there would not be large sales of new phones on OLX, especially since Romania is not exactly a very rich country, so with low purchasing power, Romanians buy what is easier for them to purchase.
