Digi Mobil. Orange, Telekom and Vodafone recorded a decrease in the number of customers of mobile telephony services in Romania in the first half of 2018, according to data published by ANCOM. The institution claims that at the end of the first 6 months of 2018, there were 22.2 million active customers of mobile telephony services at Digi Mobil, Orange, Telekom, and Vodafone in Romania, 2% less than in the first 6 months of 2017.
Digi Mobil. Of these, 12.3 million had telephone subscriptions, up 2% compared to the same period last year, and 9.9 million had prepaid cards, 4% less than in S1 2017. Practically, from year to year, we see a decrease in the number of customers who use mobile phone services based on a prepaid card, both at Digi Mobil and at the other mobile phone operators, and this despite the fact that the offers are worse for the subscription.

Orange has 39% of the market share in Romania, and Vodafone has 30%, the difference between Digi Mobil, Telekom, and Orange being very large, more precisely triple and double, and it will be extremely difficult for any of the two to return mobile phone companies.

Based on the number of active SIM cards at the end of June this year, the market leader had a market share of 39%, the main competitor 30%, the next competitor 18%, the other providers totaling 13%. In the first half of 2018, on average, a resident initiated voice calls totaling 4 hours and 51 minutes and sent 59 messages, monthly. The average duration of a call was 2 minutes and 45 seconds.
