Huawei. The beginning of December brought a huge scandal around the Chinese company after its CFO, and the daughter of the current CEO, was arrested by the Canadian authorities following an arrest warrant issued in the USA. China did not think too much and decided to arrest several Canadian citizens following the actions taken by the American neighbors, the motivation being based on possible risks for the national security of the country.

Huawei. China recently released one of the people arrested at the beginning of this month, but here we are talking about a teacher who would have received an administrative punishment because she would have worked illegally in the country. The other two people were arrested on the grounds that they represent a risk to China's national security, one being a former Canadian diplomat, the second being a consultant on North Korea, both of whom are still in detention.

Huawei. ARRESTS made in response to the US ATTACK

Huawei. China reacted very promptly and very firmly following the arrest of the CFO of the Chinese company, something that has not happened until now, not even when ZTE was banned from selling its products in the US. Everything is, of course, related to the fact that Huawei has very close ties with the Chinese government, those in the management team being either former employees of the state, or close to those who are in various leadership positions in the Chinese state now.

McIver was the third Canadian to be detained by China following the December 1 arrest in Vancouver of Meng Wanzhou, chief financial officer of the Chinese telecommunications company Huawei. China arrested two men – former diplomat Michael Kovrig, employed by thinktank International Crisis Group, and Michael Spavor, a consultant on North Korea – on 10 December. They were detained on suspicion of "harm to national security", a phrase often used by Beijing when alleging espionage. But it was seen as retaliation following the arrest of Meng Wanzhou.

Huawei. The trade war between the US and China caught this company in the middle, but Apple is the victim chosen by the Chinese to put pressure on the US, and their tactics could be successful in the end. It will be interesting to see to what extent Apple will put pressure on the US to end the legal dispute with China, and that's because Huawei can't really say anything, because it seems to be under the influence of the Chinese government, not with the ability to influence it .
