CALL 112 sts

CALL 112. STS announced today the launch of an application for iPhone and Android phones that aims to help the operators of the 112 emergency service to more quickly locate the initiators of the calls to the service. I told you a few months ago that STS was planning to launch something that would allow easier location of people who call the unique emergency service 112, and the APEL 112 application is a very interesting solution for this problem.

CALL 112. The STS application uses the AML system, Advanced Mobile Location, to transmit the caller's location to the single emergency service using the Internet and GPS, or only the latter, if there is no Internet connection. The APEL 112 application must be installed in the phones and the steps must be followed from the moment of opening so that it can be configured and can send our location to the authorities when we initiate an emergency call through it.

APEL 112 is the STS application that locates you more easily for 112 calls

CALL 112 emergency location

CALL 112. Based on the description made by the STS, people must initiate the call to the 112 emergency service through this application so that the location is correctly transmitted to the operator. This means, as far as I can tell, that if you initiate the call using the standard application for calling, from iOS or Android, then the APEL 112 application will not be able to transmit your exact location when you initiate the call.

The application allows the transmission of the location of 112 callers when the emergency call is generated from a national mobile telephony network. The use of the application requires the activation and existence of data services (Internet access) and the location service (GPS) of the mobile phone. In the absence of data service, the caller's position can still be communicated to the 112 operator during the telephone conversation because the application allows the display of GPS coordinates.

CALL 112. As far as I know, iOS has implemented a similar AML system as standard, if not this one, and a collaboration between Apple and STS could have the purpose of transmitting the location when calling 112, regardless of how this is done. Until then, you can download the APEL 112 application at the moment for iPhone (Call 112 RO) si for Android (Call 112 RO), and even if at first glance it doesn't seem useful, I recommend you to install it, because you never know when you might need it.
