It seems that the iPad tablet caught fire because of the defective battery used by the Apple company, and the man died from the injuries caused by the fire that was generated by the tablet.
The tablet was in the kitchen when its battery exploded, causing a fire that engulfed the house where the man lived, and was killed by the injuries caused by the flames. The man's wife has now sued the Apple company, asking for compensation due to the tragedy caused by the iPad tablet, but it is hard to say what will happen.

To be completely honest, the whole story casts a great shadow of doubt on the safety of electronic products with large batteries, not just the iPad, because tragedies can occur at any time. Apple is only one of the producers of tablets, or products with large batteries, so similar problems can appear at any time, but it remains to be seen what will happen in this process.
