Digi Mobile. Orange, Telekom, Vodafone, UNEXPECTED News from the Government

Digi Mobile. Orange, Telekom, Vodafone have an unexpected news directly from the Romanian Government, through the voice of the Prime Minister, Viorica Dancila, here is what she said.

Digi Mobil changes

Digi Mobil. Orange, Telekom, Vodafone have a very encouraging official announcement today, the telecommunications companies in Romania are getting closer and closer to getting rid of the changes that could seriously affect us all in the coming months. More precisely, Prime Minister Viorica Dancila recently stated that flexibility is needed regarding GEO 114/2018, and that where necessary, changes could be made, as Digi Mobil and the rest of the companies want.

Digi Mobil. Viorica Dancile is going to meet in the next period with the ministers who would like to make changes for GEO 114/2018, and if they will be sufficiently influenced, then some of the provisions could be extended or eliminated completely. Eugen Teodorovici is among those who said that no changes should be made, but if Digi Mobil, and the rest of the affected companies, will manage to convince other members of the Government that a rethinking of GEO 114/2018 is necessary, then this could happen.

Digi Mobile. Orange, Telekom, Vodafone, UNEXPECTED News from the Government

Digi Mobil. Until now, GEO 114/2018 has made its effects felt not only in the telecom segment, where RCS & RDS increased the prices of services, but also in other areas of the Romanian economy, but many companies have not yet increased prices, waiting for a change. What Viorica Dancila suggests is that GEO 114/2018 would not remain in the final version, so Digi Mobil, and the rest of the operators, should lobby seriously in the next period to try to obtain the desired changes, beneficial for companies, but also customers from all over Romania.

Related to GEO 114. I said that flexibility is needed and that's why I called the ministers so that each of them could say what problems there are in each separate chapter. The other ministers discussed each one on the line of his lordship so that where there are problems we can see what changes we make. This does not mean giving up. It does not mean that whoever shouts the loudest is right. We want the changes we make to be consistent with the problems you have. I want to change this approach. The problems must come from you to us so that we can make the necessary decisions.

Digi Mobil. Until the end of September, GEO 114/2018 must also be adopted by the Parliament to remain in force, and at the moment there are only 9 days left in which pressure can be put on the parliamentarians to make changes. If Digi Mobil, and the rest of the affected companies, will not move fast enough, then it is very possible that the changes will remain permanent, and thus everyone has to lose because of the price increases that will come.

Digi Mobil. I remind you now that from March 1, the "price adjustment" that the RCS & RDS company announced at the beginning of January, and which is already applied to new customers, will be imposed on all customers.
