Digi Mobil, Telekom, Orange, Vodafone, BIG HIT Senate date

Digi Mobil, Telekom, Orange, Vodafone have received a very strong blow today from the Romanian Senate, this is the decision against them.

Digi Mobile senate

Digi Mobil, Telekom, Orange, Vodafone, were today the target of a very important blow given by the Romanian Senate, but probably some of those there expected this to happen, unfortunately. It is, of course, about GEO 114/2018, which will be silently adopted by the Romanian Senate, because today the Minister of Finance, Eugen Teodorovici, requested the postponement of the debates in the specialized commission, so Digi Mobil, and the rest of the operators, have very bad news.

Digi Mobil, GEO 114/2018 has a deadline for tacit adoption in the Senate on March 1, so if it is not discussed and voted on by the senators by Friday, it will be tacitly adopted and will reach the Chamber of Deputies, which is also the decision-making chamber. Digi Mobil, and the rest of the telecom companies, have made efforts in recent weeks to impose changes for GEO 114/2018, and Eugen Teodorovici requested the postponement of its debate in order to discuss any possible changes.

Digi Mobil, Telekom, Orange, Vodafone are ignored by the Senate

Digi Mobil, and the rest of the telecom operators, still have a very hard first blow, because the silent adoption in the Senate will happen anyway on March 1, so the whole fight will move to the Chamber of Deputies, where the chances of success are equally small. Eugen Teodorovici stated that there are also discussions with representatives of telecommunications operators to make changes for GEO 114/2018, which have been requested by Digi Mobil and the rest of the companies since the end of last year.

Digi Mobil, along with the rest of the telecommunications environment in Romania, will have a very hard fight to impose their desired changes, given that the Romanian Government does not seem willing to cooperate with them. Rumor has it that Prime Minister Viorica Dancila will announce changes to GEO 114/2018 next week, based on the grievances of Digi Mobil and the rest of the affected Romanian/foreign companies, but of course no one knows clearly what will happen next.

Digi Mobil, and the rest of the telecommunications companies in Romania, have been fighting for some time to convince the government to make the changes they want, but it remains to be seen if GEO 114/2018 will be amended, or if it will be tacitly adopted by the Chamber of Deputies.
