RCS & RDS. ALERT for Customers, what you MUST DO!

RCS & RDS. A very important alert has been issued for customers in Romania, here is what you must do right now if you are a customer of Digi.

RCS & RDS alert

RCS & RDS. A very important alert was announced by the Romanian telecommunications group, targeting all customers in the country, and you must take very seriously what the company is saying at the moment. More precisely, the other days those from RCS & RDS announced that following the increase in computer attacks in Romania, they decided to filter certain ports that can be used by hackers to compromise users' computers, or spread viruses and malware throughout the world.

RCS & RDS. The company has also created a special page on its website in which it offers explanations for the security problems that customers may have, and from which it is now trying to protect them with this measure. Among all the explanations offered there by those from RCS & RDS, there is also a special section through which customers in Romania can check their network to see if it is exposed to the vulnerabilities that the company wants to protect us all from.

RCS & RDS. ALERT for Customers, what you MUST DO!

RCS & RDS. You can access this page to use a special scanner made available by Digi to check your home internet network, and know if it is vulnerable to hackers or not. The scanner from RCS & RDS checks a number of ports that are known to allow the exploitation of operating systems, including when it comes to IoT devices, i.e. any kind of smart gadgets that connect to the Internet for remote control.

The vulnerability scanning service aims to ensure the safe use of the Internet access service, aiming to protect a fixed set of ports of some equipment that are not secured by a firewall, ports that present a high risk potential determined by the accessibility of the opening and their exploitation by other people.

RCS & RDS. The verification of the existence of possible vulnerabilities is done only with the express consent of the clients, so you will have to accept the terms and conditions, but the procedure should be a "pain-free" one. After testing the vulnerabilities, those from RCS & RDS will tell you if there are ports that can be used by hackers to exploit your equipment, and that way you will know if additional security of your devices is needed.

RCS & RDS. To be honest, I recommend you to do the scan, if you are not a person who is familiar with technology, because it could help you to have your devices protected better.
