Google is currently developing an extremely interesting new product, which it wants to launch at some point, and will seriously compete with some of its main partners for the manufacture of Android phones. More precisely, Google is developing a foldable phone for release somewhere in the not-too-distant future, i.e. a competitor for the Samsung GALAXY FOLD, or the Huawei MATE X, which perhaps shouldn't be so surprising now.
Google has revealed today some images from a patent that describes this foldable phone that the Americans are preparing for launch, it will function quite similar to what Samsung and Huawei offer at the moment. We are talking about a foldable phone that would have an OLED screen, so Google does not want to use any technology different from its partners, even receiving prototypes from Samsung to test.

Google is currently testing some foldable phone prototypes that it could offer to customers around the world, of course under the Pixel brand, which has become so well known globally. Unlike the current foldable phones, those from Google describe the possibility that their foldable phone could even fold in the shape of the letter Z, and this implies the use of a new type of screen that is currently not ready for mass production.
Google will not release this foldable phone before the current models from Samsung and Huawei reach the market and have at least a year to see how viable they would be for long-term use. Google has worked closely with its partners to prepare the Android operating system for foldable phones, so it would be logical to see a product of this kind including from it, but we will have to be patient until that happens.
Google it is currently trying to increase the sales of the smartphones it has on offer, so a foldable phone would be a big help, but it won't be coming anytime soon.
