Kaspersky files a COMPLAINT against Apple to the Russian authorities

Kaspersky COMPLAINTS Apple

Kaspersky, one of the largest companies that produces antivirus solutions, filed a complaint against Apple due to monopolistic practices in the App Store. The company complained to the authorities in Russia due to the fact that Apple abuses the App Store to restrict the functions that applications have in iOS 12.

Kaspersky talks about the Screen Time function that exists in iOS 12 for iDevices, saying that it blocked the possibility of using certain profiles for the Kaspersky Safe Kids application. Basically, Kaspersky wants to allow parents to make live recordings of what their children are doing in the applications on their phones and see them on their own devices, which Apple does not allow.

Kaspersky basically made an application for parents to spy on their children, and Apple refused to publish it in the App Store, which is what almost everyone is doing at the moment. Of course, Kaspersky is upset because it can't launch spying apps in the App Store, but it's unlikely that Apple will allow it to do so, regardless of what the Russian authorities say.

It turned out that, according to Apple, the use of configuration profiles was against App Store policy, and Apple demanded that these be removed, so that the app could pass the review and be published in the store. For us, that would mean removing two key features from Kaspersky Safe Kids: app control and Safari browser blocking.
