criminal police

polity. In the age of technology, including the police, they benefit from the most revolutionary technologies in terms of investigating crimes or other crimes, and in some cases what we see in movies also happens in reality. More precisely, the police in the Netherlands use the latest technology to recreate in 3D the places where the crimes take place, and to understand much more clearly how the actions of the criminals are undertaken, everything being generated on the computer, just like in the movies.

polity. Using special cameras, the place where a crime was committed is recorded with 360-degree images, so that forensic experts have a panoramic view of the location, to be able to recreate it in 3D on the computer. Virtual reality is used by the police to make this 3D reproduction of the crime scene, and this helps forensics to estimate the trajectories of the bullets fired, the location of the criminal, the victim, and not only that.

The police. REVOLUTIONARY Crime Investigation Equipment

polity. The 3D images created on the computer help even the criminalists from other areas to see the location where a crime took place, and to help their colleagues determine much more easily how things unfolded. At the base of these revolutionary technologies are cameras with 360-degree recording, but also a special scanner that the police must use in order to be able to record high-quality images, and to have as clear a representation of reality as possible.

polity. The equipment needed to make recordings of this kind, and to process them in 3D reproductions through virtual reality costs no less than 100.000 euros, something that the Romanian authorities cannot easily support through investments. The Dutch police use equipment of this kind in certain areas of the country, and with their help they can discover much more easily who are the criminals who have committed certain crimes, but Romania is still very far from such a thing.
