Huawei. Today, the Chinese company offers an answer to the accusations regarding a problem with the Huawei P30 PRO phones, here is what the Chinese say about it.

Huawei answer

Huawei. Yesterday I told you about a the problem discovered for Huawei P30 PRO phones, recently launched by the Chinese company, they are not even that well thought out to represent the truth from daily use. More precisely, it seems that Huawei has exaggerated the "Moon Mode" function, which allows recording pictures of the moon using Huawei P30 PRO phones, it being considered by some as nothing more than a big trick.

Huawei. Basically, a client of the company took some pictures of the moon, made some comparisons with other phones, analyzed the software, and came to the conclusion that the Huawei P30 PRO would create images with "Moon Mode", which are not exactly real . Basically, Huawei would use the artificial intelligence in the phone to create pictures based on predefined elements, without actually recording a picture of the moon when the user points the mobile phone camera towards it.

Huawei. THE ANSWER to the Accusations regarding the P30 PRO

Huawei. In the face of these accusations that have generated quite a lot of discussions in the online environment, the Chinese company defends itself by saying that although it uses artificial intelligence for this function, the pictures taken by users are real. Huawei says that the "Moon Mode" function is intended to improve the pictures taken by users, focusing, exposure, colors and shapes being highlighted after the image is recorded using its mobile phones.

Moon Mode operates on the same principle as other master AI modes, in that it recognizes and optimizes details within an image to help individuals take better photos. It does not in any way replace the image – that would require an unrealistic amount of storage space since AI mode recognizes over 1,300 scenarios. Based on machine learning principles, the camera recognizes a scenario and helps to optimize focus and exposure to enhance the details such as shapes, colors, and highlights/lowlights.

Huawei. The company also says that it is possible to record photos of the moon even when the artificial intelligence is disabled, but then the final result is not as good, at least in the tests done by some of the customers. The reality is that Huawei doesn't really have anything to say at the moment because the reality is that you can't really take pictures of the moon using 5X optical zoom and 50X digital zoom, and photographers know this very well.

Huawei. The only good part in this whole situation is that few people actually take pictures of the moon using their phones, so theoretically few should complain about the software that is offered.
