Firefox has a very serious problem at the moment, the browser is frustrating millions of people around the world with the difficulties it is going through.

Firefox is one of the most used browsers for surfing the Internet, with hundreds of millions of users worldwide, and yesterday many of these people were frustrated by a very serious problem. Specifically, it seems that some of the Firefox users around the world have discovered that the extensions they had enabled within the application were inexplicably disabled, of course without any warning message displayed anywhere.

Firefox had this problem reported overnight by many users, and according to the first information coming from Mozilla engineers, it seems that the problem is related to the expiration of a certificate used for extensions in the browser. A similar problem almost happened three years ago, but those behind Firefox managed to prevent the unpleasant experience for customers, and things returned to normal after a short time.

Firefox did not go through a similar situation this time, and one of the Mozilla managers apologized for the problems faced by those who were unexpectedly left without browser extensions. The serious problem appeared not only for extensions already installed in Firefox, but also for those that users tried to add, so we are talking about a situation where people were forced to use the browser as it is by default.

We're sorry that there is currently an issue where existing and new add-ons are failing to run or be installed on Firefox. We know what the issue is and are working hard to restore add-on functionality to Firefox as soon as possible. We'll continue to provide updates via our Twitter channels. Please bear with us while we get the problem fixed.

Firefox currently has a possible method to solve the problem, but this involves using the developer version, or a Nightly build, plus accessing the "about:config" menu where the value "xpinstall.signatures.required" must be set to false. Those from Mozilla cannot easily solve this problem of Firefox, so everything is based on the patience of users who currently use the browser to surf the Internet, this being the only solution.

Firefox could have the problem solved by night, but unfortunately no one can guarantee this, so it remains only for everyone to be patient until Mozilla brings things back to normal.
